Where did they go?!!!!

So, I was getting ready one morning. The boys were both playing in and out of my bathroom. I all of sudden noticed that it had been quiet for a while. I called out their names and heard some serious giggling coming from inside my bathroom cabinet.

I opened the cabinet to find this..............

looking back at me!!! As the master card comercial goes "Priceless"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLE, FINALY !!!!!!

So, I know what you are all thinking. Can't believe I have finally put on a new post. Thanks for all your patience. Kyle's birthday was a month ago. I can't believe Kyle is already 3. It has been so fun watching him grow and being apart of his life, even if he does talk almost non-stop (we love that about him most of the time). He is constantly making us laugh with all the funny things that come out of his mouth. Kyle started telling everyone a few weeks before his birthday that he was going to have a elephant cake. How can you turn down such a request, especially with those big brown eyes staring at you. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone, I have never been very crafty. So a lot of stress and a few cake mixes later we actually had an elephant cake. I couldn't believe I pulled it off, I almost didn't want anyone to eat it. Which I should have insisted on because Steve told me later that it didn't taste very good. I am just glad it looked good. =) It was a really fun night.

Blowing out the candles.

One, two, tear them off. Remember when presents were that fun to open.

This is the train set he got. It has a remote control and everything. Toys are so much cooler now a days. Kyle can even put the tracks together with little help. It is such a fun toy but also a really hard toy to share. It has to be put away sometimes when other kids come over to play. Maybe Santa can remedy that problem with another train.

A work always in progress

Our yard is going to be a work forever in progress. I had no idea what went into creating and up keeping a yard!! We love it though, and we have lots of good help as you can see from the pictures. Steve did an awesome job on our deck. Kyle and all of the neighbor kids love to run on it. Kyle and his friend Gavin who lives behind us are pretending to fish in our soon to be sand box. Right now it is just a place for everyones water to collect. Once that is complete we will call it good for this year. Steve, however has some serious plans for our yard next spring.

Ode to Jackson

I was thinking that this blog, when I am actually blogging (sorry) has been mainly about Kyle. One day Jackson will look at this blog and say (like Jan Brady) Kyle, Kyle, Kyle. So, this post is dedicated to him. Jackson is so much fun. He is army crawling all over the place. He loves to watch what everybody is doing. We can't eat anything in front of him because he insists on having some. He is happy most of the time, and we are so glad that he is part of our family. How can you not love that smile.

summer vacation

We went home to my parents house in California for a week. The weather was awesome!! We had a blast. My parents have a pool in their backyard. The pool party was never ending. Kyle swam morning , afternoon, and night. This is him with a few of his cousins.

We went to Monteray Bay with my brother and his family for a few days while visiting my parents. It was overcast and cold. I forgot that Northern Cali beaches are unfortunately nothing like Hawaii's. The water was ice cold. I was so looking forward to putting my deathly fear of sharks aside and do a little boogie boarding. After putting one toe in the water I decided to succumb to my irrational fear, and stay hudled in my beach chair. It was still fun to play in the sand and smell the ocean air. Sand really brings out the six-year old in Steve. He looooves to play in sand, and according to my mother-in-law always has. It is very cute!!! (Steve never reads this blog, maybe he should)
Steve, Kyle, Richard, Kathryn, Jackson, and Rich in the sand castle before the waves destroyed it.

The next day when drove 17 mile drive and stopped at some of the tide pools. It was so much fun. We saw crabs, and a few sea otters.
We went to Monteray Bay Aquarium. It was so amazing!!! This picture turned out a little funky. We saw all kinds of marine animals. We had such a good time, Kyle still talks about it. We will definately have to go back once Jackson gets a little bigger.

Jackson's New Toy

Jackson has learned that he can suck on his toes. It is a nice new convient toy. They are always there when he needs them. I have to admit I am a bit jealous, I wish I was that flexable. He is getting so big. He has learned how to roll this week. Our days of putting him on the bed or the couch are over. He is rolling from one side of the room all the way to the other. He loves his new found freedom, and squeals with delight as he flips around.

Gone Fishing

We took Kyle fishing for the first time. We only caught one fish, (it was in the middle of the afternoon) but it put up a fight, and Kyle loved every minute of it. I felt kind of bad for the poor thing. I think I have been watching too much Finding Nemo. We bought Kyle a cheap-o fishing rod and Cabela's, he kept throwing it into the water and reeling it in. It was so cute. We will need to take him more often, so he can grow to love it like his dad. In a few years the boys can have fishing-bonding time with dad, and I can have alone-sleep- in- time with ME.
